the livingroom

A quick snapshot before everyone gets here... that's how it seems to go at my house.  By the time our children arrive home from work or our guests join us for dinner, the house is a bustle of chatting, laughing, and eating.  We retire to the livingroom while waiting for the coffee to brew.  When it's just us, I'll clean up the kitchen, sweep, and then plop myself on the sofa to rest myself for a few moments. :)  Most of the time we try to find a "good" movie that's family friendly, and doesn't need much fast-forwarding for all of us to watch together.

When it's just Curt and me, we have become that proverbial 'old couple' according to our 18 year old son...we like to sit and read while listening to classical music.  Curt will read and I will usually be working on a quilting project, embroidery, or a little knitting.  Our daughter's cat will join us and sit in the winged-back chair and look up occasionally to spy which child may have just entered the room.  I really enjoy these times at the close of the day, usually a busy day, but the livingroom is the place to sit, regroup, be home.

As I build the pages for my blog, I hope to show you little snapshots of our haven.  For now, I'll share my Pinterest board.  These photos show things that make me smile, projects and ideas I would like to incorporate in our home.  Maybe some of these 'pins' will inspire you, too.
